Yeom Min-ho, CEO of YMSdotco, and Hwang Tae-il, CEO of Glorang, received the Minister of Science and ICT Commendation at the Korea Young Entrepreneur Awards.
At the 10th-anniversary Startup Hope Concert marking the launch of the K-ICT Startup Mentoring Center, commendations were awarded to exemplary young entrepreneurs and dedicated mentees. The Korea Young Entrepreneur Awards were presented to ICT company CEOs aged 39 or younger with outstanding achievements and contributions to national industrial development, divided into companies under 3 years since founding and companies between 3 and 7 years since founding.
Yeom Min-ho, CEO of YMSdotco, who received the Minister of Science and ICT Commendation, founded an AI solutions company based on natural language processing (NLP) and computer vision in 2021. He filed 16 AI patents and contributed to the development of the ICT industry by launching a news service for overseas stock investors and a photo album service for real estate agents that recognizes objects within living spaces.
Hwang Tae-il, CEO of Glorang, who also received the Minister of Science and ICT Commendation, founded an edtech startup in 2017 and operates Kkuggu, an online live kids school. He was recognized for helping resolve educational inequality through AI education solutions and a talent diagnosis platform, and for contributing to revitalizing the national economy through sales growth and job creation.
Lee Bong-ho, CEO of EMCT, received the Minister of Science and ICT Award after being evaluated as having outstanding participation and business performance among dedicated mentees who completed the 21st and 22nd mentoring programs conducted this year. Choi Yu-na, CEO of IglooCloud, and Kim In-su, CEO of WeInteract, received the Chairman’s Award of the Korea Entrepreneurship Foundation as representative dedicated mentees of the 21st and 22nd cohorts. Ma Jeong-su, CEO of Zelco, and Yoo Seong-han, CEO of Banf, were selected as outstanding mentees for the 21st and 22nd cohorts respectively and received the Chairman’s Award of the Korea Entrepreneurship Foundation.
Five people—Im Yeon-ho, education specialist mentor at the K-ICT Startup Mentoring Center; Kang Gwan-sik, former dedicated mentor; Cheon Young-seok, CEO of Twiny; Lee Hye-jeong, team leader at the K-ICT Startup Mentoring Center; and Professor Kim Shin-gon of Kwangwoon University—were awarded plaques of merit and appreciation in recognition of their contributions to the development of the mentoring center.
